Botanical Name: Monstera deliciosa

Native Region/Environment: Southern Mexico to Panama

Sun/Light: Morning direct sun otherwise bright, indirect light is best.

Temperature: Indoor houseplant temperature range 65-85 degrees is best.  Outdoors in USDA Zones 11-12.

Water: Best to moisten the entire soil and let it dry to the touch than frequently water small amounts.  Frequent mists are better than frequent watering.  Avoid standing water.

Soil: Organically rich and porous.

Growth Pattern: Large perennial evergreen vine in warm climates.  Each vine  is compact with close leaf nodes and long, strong aerial roots to attach and support its weight for climbing.  Deep fenestrations, evolutionary adaptation of oval leaf holes and deep side splits, which permit diffuse lighting to reach even the lower leaves and not just the growing crown. Grows 1'-2' per year.

Mature Size: Mature plants can have 60'-80' long vines that are 3" in diameter.  Large leaves, maturing at 2 1/2' wide and 3' long each, create a very bushy, dense tropical feel.

Attributes: Versatile, in a hanging basket or in a pot with a growing pole, the heart shaped leaves are a solid, uniform green that is trainable. Able to grow very densely considering the large leaf size.

Pot: 3.5" or 4"

Monstera deliciosa,  also commonly called the Split Leaf Philodendron or Swiss Cheese plant.  It has many lesser known names: Adam's Rib philodendron; Skeleton philodendron; Broken Leaf philodendron; Tiger's Hand, Horse Skeleton and Cow Ribs.

All species of Monstera are known as good house companions as they filter harmful VOC's, like formaldehyde, benzene and others, from their environment.

This plant may have a degree of toxicity that may cause illness or discomfort if ingested.  It is grown and sold for Ornamental purposes and not intended as a food nor fodder.  Additionally, contact with the sap of this plant may cause irritation or discomfort.

Solid translation, deep dive into ancient texts
Format: Paperback
The layout is clean, and the annotations help a lot, especially if you’re new to these books. Some of the content is pretty wild—giants, watchers, calendars—but that’s what makes it fascinating. This edition is great for both research and personal exploration. Just don’t expect a casual read—these are intense, ancient writings with a lot of mystery.

Unlike anything I’ve read before
Format: Paperback
I wasn’t sure what to expect going into this, especially with the mention of Ina Quant, but it turned out to be a deeply fascinating mix of texts. The Three Jubilees were incredibly detailed and offered timelines and insights I’d never seen in any other scripture. Jasher was a standout—familiar stories but with so much more context. The modern English translation made it all feel accessible without losing the ancient feel. I’m glad the annotations were there too—they really helped make sense of the more complex parts.

This filled in so many gaps
Format: Paperback
As someone who grew up reading the Bible, this book was a revelation. Jubilees and Jasher gave context and depth to stories I thought I already understood, and Enoch’s visions took everything to another level. I really appreciated how all five books were included in one volume—well-organized, easy to navigate, and supported with helpful notes. It’s a serious study tool, but also a compelling read.

Felt like opening a long-lost vault
Format: Paperback
I had no idea what I was getting into when I picked this up. These writings are so different from the Bible I grew up with—more mystical, more cosmic, and honestly more human in some parts. The modern English translation helped a lot, because even with that, it takes time to digest. Jubilees really surprised me—it’s like reading Genesis with a behind-the-scenes commentary. And Enoch III? That one goes wild. This book isn’t casual reading, but if you’re spiritually curious or love ancient texts, it opens up a totally different lens on early beliefs.
